Submision to the Immigration Office

There may be continuous requests for documents due to the return of the immigration office until the permit is issued

Permit issuance

Once all the procedures have been completed, including updating the expiration date on the back of the RC, we will inform you of the RC pickup date and location.
Notice
•
The final issuance period is about 3 to 4 weeks from the time the application is completed at the immigration office.
•
You must stay in Korea during the administrative agency processing period, and you may not be allowed to leave the country.
•
If you wish to return to your country temporarily after receiving [Confirmation of Permission for Extension of Period of Stay] , you must go to the nearest resident center or immigration office and obtain a <Certificate of Alien Registration> before leaving the country.
◦
[Confirmation of Permission for Extension of Period of Stay] is to confirm the extension of the visa, and although the documents are accepted when leaving or entering Korea at an airport, they may not be recognized when entering or leaving the home country (or a third country).
◦
If you are required to present [Confirmation of Permission for Extension of Period of Stay], you must have it with you along with your passport.

An application for an extension can be made at the earliest four months before the expiration date of your stay.
◦
Example: if the expiration date is 'Jun 30, 2023', you can apply for an extension from 'Feb 28, 2023'.
•
Petition applications should be made at least 2 business days before the expiration date of your stay. Therefore, it is highly recommended to apply in advance.
•
If your date of stay expires before the extension permit is confirmed, there might be some difficulties in using banking services, health insurance benefits and mobile services, but once the extension is permitted, you can use those services as before.
